Biography

Attorney Patrick Ritter has dedicated his legal career to making a positive impact in the lives of his clients and the greater community. Prior to working at Gruber Law Offices, Attorney Ritter was a decorated criminal defense attorney in Wisconsin. Respected by both his clients and peers alike, Attorney Ritter was recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and most recently 2023. Attorney Ritter had also previously been recognized as a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association. Attorney Ritter was also awarded the “Client’s Choice Award” from Avvo in 2018. Attorney Ritter has presented winning legal arguments to both judges and juries alike and has obtained victories for clients at trial through his skillful advocacy.

Attorney Ritter obtained his law degree from Marquette University. While at Marquette, Attorney Ritter achieved a CALI Award for obtaining the best overall grade in his Civil Pretrial Practice class. Attorney Ritter also excelled in oral and written advocacy and competed in both the Jenkins Honors Moot Court Competition and the National Moot Court Competition, placing as a semifinalist in both events.

Prior to law school, Attorney Ritter received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Creighton University. While at Creighton, Attorney Ritter devoted himself to serving others in the local community and was the co-director of a youth basketball league at the George Bryant Community Center in North Omaha.

Upon graduating from Creighton University, Attorney Ritter served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in New Orleans. During his year of service, Attorney Ritter worked with an outstanding team of attorneys at the Loyola New Orleans Legal Clinic, which was headed by Bill Quigley, former legal director of the Center for Constitutional Rights. Attorney Ritter worked primarily on immigration issues and was instrumental in obtaining legal relief for immigrants fleeing political violence.

Attorney Ritter and his wife, Kathleen, have two kids, Michael and Audrey. They are proud to call Milwaukee their home and their favorite family activity is going to concerts in the local parks in the summer. Attorney Ritter is an avid supporter of Wisconsin athletics, especially his beloved Brewers and Bucks. A former state champion athlete in high school at Madison Edgewood, Attorney Ritter also enjoys coaching youth baseball and basketball in his free time.
